Novels

I have written a dozen of novels in French. Some of them are ready to be sent to publishing houses. It's mostly fantasy with a romance or adventure arc.
The most advanced project, Experiences trop réussies, is about Ayleen Malgolfas, a young woman that discovers the world is not quite what she thought. She believes to live in Sarreson, a State-City, in year 100 after the Unification, and discover some truth about the world and her family (and herself, of course). She will grow up, and love and hate and misunderstand everyone and everything, but she will learn to be her true self.
Four stories, the first is written and beta-read. Need some last polish before sending away. Mostly I need to accept it can't be perfect and to send it as it is.

Since fall 2017, I wrote quite a lot of Pride and Prejudice fan fiction stories. The first twenty are in French, but I begin to write in English this spring. The first one (Dropping the mask) is published on Fanfiction.net site, and two others are in process of being finished and beta-read by some native English-speaking person.

Interactive stories

An interactive story is a elecronique gamebook, like Lonewolf or Choose your own adventure, where the player (reader) can choose the path of the story.

Writing and Game-design all in one. I love creating content and interactions for the players.
I have two finished (and polished) interactives stories in French. The first was written for a litterary contest(second place). The second was a teaser for my wedding.
I have one project in progress that is in the same world as some of my novels.

My new project is way more complex that the first two, so I need more tools. I begin to create my framework in frontend development with JS and CSS. Library used and planned to used are Vis.JS and React.JS.

Recently I discovered the TextAdventure/Quest platform. I believe to be more adapted for my project, so I now used it for two little project in the same world as my novels.
The first one is in 1850, in a London ballroom, Miss Lieshen discovered why her mother has been assassinated, and why her lovemate think all the worst of her. She will need to navigate between the social exigences of the time, and the rumours about the guest to understand the truth and not die trying. It is currently in active developpment but I hope to publish it soon.
The second one is in the beginning of the XXI century, and a deck board prototype. The mecanics are implemented but it need a story and a lot of text to explain the world wich I believe I will do after I finished the first one.

I will put my gitlab and github profile, but I use a lot of the private setting of gitlab, so a lot of project are not visible on this plateform.

Full Stack: front with React.JS & back with Scala & Play Framework & ElasticSearch (1 year)

Main developer for a airbnb-like plateform to link tourist and local guide.

Server in Play Framework and Scala. The search engine is based on ElasticSearch.

Backend and Back-Office for healthcare project (1 year)

I develop a backend (api rest with the Laravel framework) and a Back-Office for a healthcare project. My collegues worked on Front-Office on Ipad(design and code). I was the only dev for the backend and Back-Office development.

Backend is based on PHP (client requirement) and Laravel for its ready to use implementation.

Back-Office is done in two parts : with ReactJS for a client part and with Sleeping Owl Admin for the administration part.

Tools & Backend scripts for Lemuria Bay (a Kaiho Game) (2 months)

For Lemuria Bay, a Kaiho game, I develop backend for the game based on BrainCloud BAAS, and pure javascript scripts.

Enovacom : Driver for Healthcare software(6 months)

On a OSGI architecture, the project compiles multiple drivers to agglomerate data from all the healthcare device.
I worked in a agile team of 20 people (in 3 scrum team), specifically on the development of drivers for healthcare devices.

Full Stack developer for a library software (6 months)

Webapplication that manage helicopter documentation for client of Airbus Helicopter. Evolution and new functionnality. Team of 5 to 10 developer in a agile environement. I take mostly backend tasks and document formatting tasks (XSLFO and XSLT).

Econologia

We create, my husband and myself a game about ecology and the green transition, where the player are the political leader of some country, and responsible for their population and the industrial growth of their countries.

It's a board game with a digital support (we are two developer and some thing are difficult to ignore). It can be played without the numeric functionnality but I think it offers more options and more gameplay.

I have done a lot of summer camp with teenager (mostly geeky teenager) to teach them to create game or to code in Java

Game Design (Aout 2017 - 15 days)

Activity leader and officious co-dirigeant of the summer camp.
70 children from 9 to 18. I was responsible for the thematic part (taugh 20 children to use Unity for a 2D project and a beginning the process for a 3D project). Responsible for the Big Game, a special day in the summer camp where all activity leader take a special role and a game begin with the breakfast and end with the evening.

Satellite supervision software (1 year)

Coding integral of an application that manage military satellite from conception to delivery to the client. The ihm was designed to be similar to the previous delivery. I was responsible for the security part and the drivers for the satellites. After some time I take over the ihm and the user events.

We had choice over the technology so we take Java 7 (last version when the project beginned). Swing for the graphic library.

We were 2 in the team, plus one occasionnal experienced developper that help us with architecture and some code-proofing.

Backend developer - quality code (5 months)

Project in healthcare, where I was responsible for the test and test coverage. I take over some of the application calculation, due to my formation about biology and medecine.

Shadow City: Unity Developer - Narrative designer - Game designer

This is a tycoon base game where you play a city spirit that wants to try some new things with its population. But as spirit, you can’t modify everything. The good point is you never die, and if your city is forgotten because your enemy, the Shadows, have taken control of it, you can always come back to take another city, and begin again.
You can construct building, and by doing so, you influence where your city is going and what its development will be. You are limited, as you only have few spot to put different building, but combos will only happen with buildings next to each others. There will be different gameplay for different game experiences.
I have finished a first version, and I am currently working on the next version.

The space explorer: Narrative designer - Game designer - Writer - Software Architect

We have done this little project over the curse of a week, with my husband. This time, I was charged to come with the architecture for the project and to provide the elements as needed, as my husband did the code (with Angular inside a JHipster app)
The aim of the game was to manage a fleet of space ship, and to manage different space base. In the fact, the prototype had a fully-grown tutorial, which demonstrate all the feature of the game where you explore the solar system, to found colony and Titan and Europe, you can construct new space ship, load them from the two resources possible in the game, or unload on another planet, and have days of travel.
The game is written to be played in English, but it should be easy to translate it for the French.

The Comforter: Narrative designer - Game designer - Writer - Frontend. Unity developer

This little game has been done for little children. You need to help the teddy bear to do some task. For this project, we run a game jam, my husband and I to do a Proof of Concept in Unity in less than a day, between the first idea to the final creation. We succeeded, me creating the interface and coding the game in Unity, and my husband doing all the game design stuff.
First, the player needs to go to the bed to sleep, and after he must pair off to eradicate monsters hidden in the background. When one is the only one, the child has won the game. The time is limited, thought and the background is darker and darker, as the light source diminished.
The target was to be able to build for Android and PC, as it is the only one we could test immediately. As we succeeded, the project was archived.

Evolution's paths: Game designer

It is a board game about the evolution you want to give to your species. You begun with Ants, Bees, Spiders or Raven and you must be at the head of the evolution race.

Ants are better to live underground. Bees in the flowers and temperate climate. Raven begun in the mountain, and Spiders in the harsh jungle.

You can gain evolution point or population. You can use population to populate a new area on the board. If there is already a population in this biome, in the same scale, you must battle for the dominance over it.

To go into a biome you are not at first, you need to use evolution point to have new characteristics.

As it is a race, the first player to reach the number of point, by its evolution or by the biome he controls win.

This board game has been conceived with my husband, but as we are focusing more on Econologia, we have not beta-played it with other players.

It is documented in our files, in French.

Ellinao's Children: Writer & World creator

Ellinao's children is the first novel I ever really wanted to write. I think I created like 10 versions of the plan to follow for the entire story, before letting it on the side for creating a new one to let another character shine more.

In a nutshell, there is a world parallel to our own where a civil war has been more or less open between 5 factions, each “children” of one of the 5 first cousins with some magical powers: Malgolfas, Chmolfas, Le Blanc, Heirane, Sren. There is a prophecy about 4 big dragons that will end the Time. So… It is the story when 4 teenager stormed in Ellinao with some special background. And how their decision will end a very long time of suffering.

Lilliane and Matthieu Heirane-Malgolfas are twins. Lilliane is impulsive and reckless but straightforward, and inwardly good. Matthieu is a sociopath that can’t understand how he lacks empathy, but is a scientific genius. They are eleven when they arrive from our Earth(21 century) to this world with medieval weapons, because technology can’t work there. They meet leaders who thinks children old enough to be here should take place in their multiple conflicts. Matthieu run away to the neutral people, and meet Eran. Lilliane stays and is brain-washed for the Malgolfas propaganda.

Boris and Laetitia Chmolfas are brothers and sisters. After someone had tortured their parents in front of them, they found the way to Ellinao, ignoring everything about the world they will be entering. Boris and Matthieu hits a very easy friendship because of the way they see the world. Laetitia has her own path where she needs more help to come over the death of her parents.

Events played by powerful person able to play God spiraled out of control, flaring all the inimities between the factions. Danger lurks in the shadow, but maybe the danger is the good way.

When a world is too corrupt to understand what it is becoming, maybe the only redemption come into the flame. And the events have forged 4 very powerful teenager full of hate and drama. And they have learn to harness and to master one element each.

The story ends when Ellinao is in ashes, some survived, like the four children/teenager, who became immortals. Matthieu, some century after, wed a wonderful woman full human, and has a daughter, Ayleen, but it is another story.

There is a lot of tropes/cliches, as y first draft was from me passing the Brevet, a French diploma mandatory to finish the first circle of education, at 14.

I am not ashamed of them, as I think now, they are inside the story, and I wants to play with them, and to write a story for adults, about children/teenager.

The story is too dark for me to put in too young hands. And it finished in soured note where they destroyed millenias of cultures

It is written in French. Maybe I will adapt it again in a new format (it should be very interesting in a series format as we followed in bunch of very different characters. And there is 4 narrative arches where we follow more or less one of the 4 major characters.)

Ayleen: Writer

This is a novel in four part written in French. I am finishing editing the first part before sending to publishers.

Girl becoming a woman, Ayleen sees the world from her pink tinted glass. When she ventured at the technico-militaristic complex of her father, she meets two creatures that broke the illusion around her. Could she understand what is at stakes before her maddening power consumes her?

In the first book, as we saw the world as Ayleen saw it, it is a world that seems a lot like ours. There is a City, and her expectation of life is to finish her studies to practice her passion: the dance.

She had only one friend and a broken family. Her friend, Rafaelo, is the one she dance with. He was her confident until he refuses to hear more about her stories, claiming she was making it up. She lived with her father and mother, but they never really saw each other. Her father is eaten alive by his work at the Citadelle, a technico-militaristic complex, and her mother is never at home, always surveying the city and its population, bringing basic needs to people like food or heat charge for their homes.

Even if her mother and her father loved each other, there is a lot of things unsaid between them, and the birth of Ayleen was one of the last straw. They stay together because they are soul mate, even if they can’t forgive the other for what he did.

As the reader will begin to pick the breadcrumb, he can understand that Ayleen does not live in 21 century, but in a future after an apocalypse. But I reserve some surprise for readers of post-apo genre.

This work is about creating the world you want to live in. And the power of your decision. Ayleen is someone special, by both her parents. She is magical, yet she does not do anything special. Specially as she had never any explanation to use her powers. In the middle of the story, the main character focus to the couple she forme with another character and their place in the society.

This story is in the Ellinao-verse, it takes place in 2523. Some of the characters were children in the prequel of some sort Ellinao Children

As I already said, it is written in French, and the first part (of four) is 58 Kwords long. I am currently doing a great editing of the second part, to include more characters and subplot.

Mod IA/Network for Dead of Winter: Game design

In the workshop, I did last October (2018), we were introduced to Dead of Winter: A crossword game, where we were encouraged to create new content. I loved this workshop, by the way.

In the time of the afternoon I had some interesting ideas of very new skins for the game, but did not had the self-esteem to try to do it in two hours. So I just added new content in a zombie world for the workshop. (I also added some new mechanism, because it is always fun to do)

I love technology, and science-fiction, and how the science-fiction is loosing the ‘fiction’ word to become the ‘science’, even if it is not in the same way the science fiction author had thought of it. AI and global network and their possibilities is a very personal favorite.

This theme is the trickiest one I ever did, because it is very different from the other. They were just skins, this is change of gameplay also. (I think it will end as a standalone game I will submit). (One is in Victorian England, and the other with Firefly/Serenity)

I am still working on it. We are physical people, but we need to reach to others and to search for tips for why the world turns that way from a place in a global network. In the same way as the Matrix. We need to get into the system to find why it goes to another direction from what was planned.

The system is not happy with us, so it will be sending bugs and virus against us. We can become infected and lost the contact with our avatar.

Mod Victorian for Dead of Winter: Game design

In the workshop I did last October (2018), we were introduced to Dead of Winter: A crossword game, where we were encouraged to create new content. I loved this workshop, by the way.

In the time of the afternoon I had some interesting ideas of totally new skins for the game, but did not had the self esteem to try to do it in two hours. So I just added new content in a zombie world for the workshop. (I also added some new mechanism, because it is always fun to do)

The theme about Victorian England is very interesting because I do not want to have zombie in the game, so it is a bad winter, and there is highwaymen. You can battle one highwaymen if you are a warrior yourself, or a bodyguard, but not really a lot of them.

A lot of the characters can easily adapt the Victorian England, because fighting, or searching for resources were already good skills to have.

Resources should be food, tools, alcohol, books with knowledge, wearable, weapon…

Instead of being infected, people could be hit and taken into the ice, and unable to break free.

I also had ideas about an AI-network theme and a Serenity/Firefly theme.

Mod Firefly for Dead of Winter: Game design

But I like very much the idea and game design of the board game so I decided to try the skin Firefly. (After all, zombie or reapers, what is the differences you can’t survive when you are outnumbered ?)

The main problem with this skin is that the Serenity crew can’t really split up between planets. Unless… Unless you are already on a planet and Reapers are coming. So the no outer space (or maybe for Inara?) and a planet, and Reapers are coming.

The colony became the Serenity, and the last hope against the Reapers.

For now, it is not published, as I don’t know where to published it. (and also I have not the base game, so I can’t really try it. )

I also had ideas about a Victorian England theme and an AI-network theme, with a lot of change to the atmosphere, obviously.

Deck-building Heroes of Ellinao: Game design. Narrative design. Frontend developer

Using TextAdventure:Quest, I tried to do a deckbuilding game after falling in love with the game Harry Potter: Hogwarts Battle (a cooperative deck building game). But the game now does not have a lot in common with this game.

The hardship of coding it inside the engine that was not at all thought that way is done, now I will have to focus on the explanation for a new player(because command are not so obvious for now)

There is three resources: Adventure, Political and Magic shards. Adventure is very RPG like, it is the strength to fight back monster that threatens Ellinao(Ellinao is your City). With Magic Shards you can acquire new heroes and construct new building, basically speaking, it is the money of the game. Political is needed for submitting the different population of Ellinao to the idea you should be the only ruler of the realm. You can also use it to level up your already owned hero.

Each day (=turn), you draw your heroes from the one you had acquired. Each hero can do many different things, but you will need to use it only for one aspect (but you can choose which one, of course). They also have very often a special effect. You can acquire new heroes at the Council House, from some choice. You can explore or battle enemy in the Dungeon. You can submit the population to gain approval in the Throne Room. And you can go the Thir Engrail and construct new buildings to improve everything you already have. After constructing the building, you can go into them and use their effect for your action.

Every five day, the Enemy will draw a new card from his pile. Some will affect the Throne Room(creating a rebellion), other the Dungeon, and other will need an immediate answer.

It is written in English. It also takes place in the same universe as most of my novels and text adventure, but is not from a much-specialised era because you can call heroes from all the times!

Al louarn (text adventure). Game designer & narrative designer & writer

It is a very short game done with the engine of TextAdventure:Quest, where you are a young fox that is maybe not really a fox. The person akin a mother is lying on the ground, and you want to escape from the hut, but the door is closed, and you don’t have hands…

It is very short, and intended as a prequel to let you learn the command to transform from fox to girl, and the different things you need to be in one of the form to do (use door and transport object: girl, hide, crawl away, fight: fox).

It is complete and should be running (need some beta-testing as I am writing this).

It takes place in the same universe as most of my novels and text adventure. Unlike the other, this one (and the following) takes place in Middle Age, in Brittany (“al louarn” means “the fox”).

Ballroom revelations (text adventure): Game design, frontend, unity Developer, narrative design, writing

I created the first try to proof of concept of this game with TextAdventure:Quest. I understand after some time the engine was not quite good for what I intended, so I went to Unity to do it myself.

It is a text adventure, where you are Isabella Lieshen in a Victorian London. She is an only child, lived with her father who is a little squire, and just came out of mourning of her Mother. At his insistence, she came to her first ballroom and met two people she never thought about meeting here, in Earth London.

The player has three goals in this little game: First, don’t die; as the killer of your Mother is one of the most sought dancer of the evening and unmask him. Two, understand why your soul mate has been banned after getting out of Hopital Heirane, and maybe clear your understanding. Last, as you are in a very high ball, don’t be too shy, put yourself to your advantage, and dance every dance, and learn dirty secrets on the other women in attendance to help your social prestige.

Each turn is divided between 4 actions. In each action, you can ask a character about two to three subjects (depending on the number of input they must give). Dancing is for the first two actions of the turn. You can choose the room you want to be. At the beginning of an accorded dance, you must be already in the ballroom, and have been asked and accepted by a gentleman. You can also use your special gift for spying in the world around you, and hearing conversation you were not supposed to know about.

Each of the dancers you choose will affect your current social rank. So choosing the best offer should be an important choice. To make this choice, however, you will need to know things about them. You are from a foreign country, and it is your first foray in the London company. Your father will introduce you to some of the people, but it is up to you to seek introduction.

Each of the people in the room has some secrets to uncover. But you can’t win unless you uncover the dark secrets of Ernest Malgolfas, the unrepentant killer of your Mother (who, when learning you will be the next Lady Heirane, wants immediately to end your life). The status of your relationship with William Sren or Black does not affect winning or losing the game.

As the evening has a time limit, there is a maximum number of actions: 8 turns, so 8x4=32 actions. But you can loose anytime before if Ernest unmask you as the next Lady Heirane, and you have not yet convinced William of your innocence in his banishment.

The backstory is important, and I plan for you to jump in it, and get to see the days of a happier past, when you were just another Heirane girl working at your Mother hospital, and a young soldier had been the only one escaping from a terrible battle.

It also take place in the same universe as most of my text adventures, and novels.

It is written in English.

This portfolio: Frontend & Writing/Editing

I wanted to have a portfolio for a long time. I took a template free to use commercially and tweaked it to custom my needs.

The most important things I have changed is to used NPM and webpack instead of the use of vanilla js to include the library. With webpack, I added minification for production purpose and development tools like the hot-reload.

About the development, I updated all the libraries, and took less than 8 hours to do it. Most of the three weeks needed to complete this project were because of writing and editing time.

As you can see, it is auto-deployed and hosted by Gitlab, where the project is hosted. I used the possibility of Gitlab to automatize deployment and host services.
